Best restaurant in Lake Lure. Incredible seasonal food, beautiful dining area, nice patio, great atmosphere, friendly and attentive staff. It is right on the golf course, not on the waterfront. Is is underneath an old looking gas station, but don't let that fool you. It's a hidden gem.

We were the there on a warm fall day so we sat outside. It was very comfortable and the food was absolutely fantastic. We couldn’t find it at first because it is in the back and basement floor. There is a gas station on the first level which absolutely had us confused. I’m so glad we drove to the back and found it. The inside of the restaurant seemed very cozy and the prices were very reasonable. 100% would recommend this restaurant to friends.

This place was amazing!!! It throws you off when you first arrive but the restaurant is on the bottom level. The food was impeccable! We were celebrating my husband's birthday and ordered a lot of different items (calamari, mussels, brie, real Cesar salad, lamb, duck, ribeye, filet, burger, and wings). It was all cooked to perfection and the flavors were out of this world! 10/10 I highly recommend! The service was also on point! All the food was timed perfectly! Thanks for an awesome evening!

We visited Lake Lure for the weekend and we ate at The Highlands Reserve 3 times!! That's how good it is. The owner and chef have really poured their hearts into this place and it shows. We loved everything we ate! The tuna wontons were simply the best! The first night I took pictures of everything we got. The next visit was for lunch and I just wanted to eat and did not take time for pics. We came back later that day for drinks and dessert!

The service was absolutely fabulous as our server was very kind and on top of things. She frequently checked in and took care of our big party of 7 that had unique orders. I liked the food. I had the fish and chips with a white sangria, and the fish was very fresh, and the chips were fried potato curls. My favorite was the sangria as it was very sweet, fruity, and fresh. Overall, I would recommend coming here.

Excellent dinner for a party of 4 on a Saturday evening. We sat outside and enjoyed the view of the river. Drinks were very good. Our entrees of salmon, pork chop and 2 orders of prime rib were all delicious. The balsamic glazed brussel sprouts w bacon were exceptional. Very good service. Best meal we have eaten in the area. Recommend - UPDATE, we returned to dine here again. The lamb chops were excellent!

In search of great food, photo ops and spirits this is the spot. Choose indoor or outdoor seating. We selected items from the breakfast and brunch menu. Kaitlyn recommended some amazing items which included the fried green tomatoes, truffle fries, and meals were French toast, chicken & waffles, sangria. The food was hot and tasty. There was not anything ordered that was not good. Generous portions for the price. The servers all work together which is always nice to see. Eating by the water was so relaxing.

The Highlands Kitchen and Bar is one of our favorite places to dine whenever we’re in town so last week we stopped in for an early dinner at the new location. Our meals were delicious, well prepared and nicely presented as usual. The nonalcoholic drink was also very fresh and really good. Our server May was sweet and attentive to our needs. I have one negative comment I would like to bring to managements attention though. The first round of draft beer was served a bit warm. The second round was better, but only because a chilled glass was requested. Might have had cooling issues with the machine. My cocktail was delicious, but sad looking. I ordered the Blueberry Lavender Lemon Drop and expected the eye catching garnish you are known for on most drinks. It was served with a lonely sugar stick and nothing more . Would have loved a small lavender sprig and maybe a few floating berries in the glass. Perhaps supplies were low and in that case bartender is forgiven . Other than that we were pleased with our experience. See you next time we’re in town.
